The record originally provided as 4:52.67 by Bill Brannock was assumed to be a bad transcription since it was much slower than the Women’s time. It was thought that the '4' should be a '3' as in 3:52.67, but the '5' being a '0' giving 4:02.67 seems to be a more reasonable interpretation. The YMCA LC National record is listed as 3:56.41 from 2001. Due to this, the performance at the 2008 YMCA LC National Championship Meet is the team record. For comparison, these are the top times that can be substantiated.
